Update Tue, 21 Jan 2020 01:32 AM UTC: We are just updating this notice to indicate that we are proceeding tonight as expected, at the scheduled time. All the teams involved have been briefed and coordinated. We are hoping things will go as smoothly as possible.

===============

Shared host VPS servers in Brisbane are being moved to a new cutting edge facility a few minutes away from the current location. The new datacenter has better redundancy, connectivity, and improved security. More information about the new location will be published at https://rimuhosting.com/datacenters.jsp

The server moves are scheduled to be happening:
Date: Tuesday 21st January 2020
Maintenance window: 11:00pm – 6:00am AEST
Estimated window for downtime: 5 hours

We are not able to change scheduled times due to the complexity of the moves.

Customers are welcome to move VPSs to one of our other locations (eg Sydney) if this maintenance represents an inconvenience. IPs would change in this case.

VPS servers will be gracefully shutdown at the start of the maintenance window. Everything about the server setup should remain the same after the move. We are not expecting issues during the migration, however we will have alternate IPs and hardware already in place at the new site just in case.

While all care is being taken, servers should be considered at risk, we recommend customers make an offsite backup of your data as a precaution. We also recommend a test reboot from our control panel be performed before the move date, to be sure your server and the services come up normally after the move.

If you need a hand or additional information, please let us know in a ticket or email to support@rimuhosting.com.
