Affected Serverhost991.rimuhosting.com

Tue, 2 Jun 2020 05:02 AM UTC: The VPSs are now all running exclusively on the new SSD storage. We will continue to monitor the host.

Tue, 2 Jun 2020 03:34 AM UTC: The new storage is ready, we will start moving users to that shortly. Some users may see reduced IO performance while that completes.

Tue, 2 Jun 2020 00:19 AM UTC: The drive swap has been completed and the new drives are currently assembling into a new storage array. Once that completes (in approximately 2 hours) we will begin working on moving VPSs to the new storage.

Mon, 1 Jun 2020 22:36 PM UTC: The physical portion of this this will be started shortly.

host991.rimuhosting.com will be getting a disk upgrade to replace its aging main storage array. The work involves swapping in new SSD drives, then moving customer storage to the new array. We expect to do this without downtime, however customers should consider the server as at risk during the work. There will be higher than normal IO load while logical operations complete.

The physical work is scheduled for Tuesday 2nd June, after 11am, to be followed by the logical operations. We are allowing an approximately 7 hour window for the change to complete, though it should be less.

We do have spare capacity on other hosts, customers are welcome to move their VPSs to one of those using our control panel at any time before the work starts. If you need help to do that please open a support ticket at https://rimuhosting.com/ticket/startticket.jsp or email us at support@rimuhosting.com
