A VPS-on-dedicated server is a powerful and flexible hosting option.  You get the convenience and flexibility of a VPS but the power and predicable performance of a classic dedicated server.

SSD or 10K RPM Velociraptor

Got a disk IO intensive application? e.g. a busy database? Our Dallas-based dedicated servers come with options for Samsung 840 Pro Series SSD and Velociraptor 10K RPM disks.  The Samsung SSDs are one of the mostly highly regarded SSD's on the market.  And are perfect for lowering disk response times and maxing out your read/write rates.

Custom built servers

Each of our new Dallas dedicated servers are custom built to our own high end specs. At the time of writing a typical server has:

• Western Digital RE4 hard drives. Great in a RAID configuration. Fast. Reliable. Better able than other drives we have tested to withstand the vibration of server cases with lots of spinning disks.
• Supermicro mainboards. Reliable. Great feature sets.
• Supermicro chassis. The Supermicro chassis have good options for hot swap drive bays and redundant, hot swappable power supplies.
• Intel CPUs. Dual hex-core Jaketown CPUs rule the roost.
• DDR3 memory. Registered or unbuffered (depending on server type).

London-based Dedicated Servers

At the London data center we use we are able to offer fast servers with generous data transfer allowances in a European location.

Pricing Information

• GST will be added for New Zealand customers.
• Payment Methods: We accept all major credit cards and PayPal.  We also accept automatic bank payments from New Zealand based customers.  Customers not in New Zealand can send us funds via wire transfer.  You can request any of these methods during the order signup process.
• Some credit card issuers (not all) taking a 1-3% 'foreign transaction fee' in addition to the amount we bill (even when the amount is that cardholders native currency).

A lot of the tools and services we provide are based on open source projects.  We try to give something back to that community.  If you are an open source developer, tell us about your project when you order and ask for an open source developer discount.

Prepayment Discounts

You can prepay your hosting if you wish.  Just let us know when you wish to do that.  If you prepay 12 months we will add an extra month for no extra cost on our VPS plans.  If you already host with us, just pop in a support ticket and tell us you wish to prepay for 12 months.  If you are about to put in a new order, just tell us you wish to prepay for 12 months on the order confirmation page.

Discounts for Multiple VPSs

If you have a VPS with us and then order another VPS we will automatically drop $10 from the VPS setup fee and discount the monthly fee by 10%.  This offer does not apply to dedicated servers.
