Update: datacenter provided the following statement:

We experienced a short connectivity issue affecting one of our distribution-layer devices.
A small subset of our customer-base was affected by this change any may have seen loss during this event.
While this has now been rectified and we do not expect the issue to reoccur,

We are experiencing some intermittent connectivity issues at the Brisbane datacenter. At the moment connectivity was restored. We are investigating the issue with the datacenter staff.
