Host where the staff takes pride in making customers happy

I just wanted to say thanks for completing the mitigation of all the various Spectre and Meltdown CVEs. My spectre-meltdown-checker went all green after the last firmware update was completed on my VPS. I am sort of half devops at work (I do embedded software) and so I've been monitoring which systems are fixed by which updates (kernel, hardware, firmware), and it's good to see the various improvements finally making it out everywhere. I appreciate getting it all nailed down. I can't tell you the countless firmware updates I've hunted down, kernel updates, etc.

Affected Data CenterAuckland

We are seeing some servers not responding at the NZ datacenter. At this stage we are not aware of any scheduled maintenance, and have opened an emergency notice to work out what is occurring.

Update: We received confirmation that a technician is investigating this now.

Update 11:03:19 PM UTC: A PDU (power distribution unit/power strip) issue has been identified in the rack that house some of our servers. That has been repaired and servers are coming back up now.

Update 11:20:00 PM UTC: We are still working on shared host 808, the PSU failed on that as a result of the outage and is being replaced. All other servers should be responding now.

Update @11:45: re host808 power supply swapped, host server pinging, VPS are scheduled to come up next.
Update @12:20: re host808 all VPSs should be up and running again. A raid array on the host is rebuilding so io performance may be reduced for the next 3-4 hours while that completes. We will continue to monitor this and the other servers in this datacenter
